Abstract:
:A rapid-access but limited vocabulary communication aid for the non-vocal and speech impaired is useful in some well defined situations. The design and construction of such a device is described. Three distinct situations have been identified where an aid is essential and an initial evaluation has shown the Pocket Speech Aid to be very successful.
