Abstract:
:Some patients present problems which exceed a junior doctor's ability to analyse and synthesize information on which management decisions must be made. As a result, he or she often consults with an attending physician or consultant. In this article four types of consultation are identified and analysed, each of which has potential for use as a teaching strategy.
