Use of fibroblast cell culture for the study of wound healing drugs.

Abstract:

:Synopsis Wound healing involves the activity of epithelial cells and fibroblasts. This process is particularly accompanied by an increase in the proliferative capacity of the fibroblasts and by the biosynthesis of constitutive proteins of connective tissue. To study the action of wound healing drugs on the growth of fibroblasts, they were cultured in a medium containing a suboptimal concentration of serum. Several growth factors (eye-derived growth factor and fibroblast growth factor) were compared with various healing products for their effects on the growth curve. Some products slightly increased the proliferation of fibroblasts, in comparison with the optimal growth obtained with growth factors.
