Abstract：
:On the basis of 341 liver biopsies routinely taken during cholecystectomies using Menghini's technique the pathological changes of the liver in comparison to the degree of cholecystitis were studied. Because of the frequency of morphological changes detected in the liver tissue, the low risk of the procedure and the possibility to determine the bioptic area of the liver, biopsies are recommended to be routinely taken during cholecystectomy.
