Abstract:
:The combination of fluid and mechanical properties exhibited by cell membranes enables a wealth of physical phenomena, many of which also have biological functions. A recent study in Cell (Shi et al., 2018) now shows that membrane tension in the cell may not be as simple as it first seemed.
