Abstract:
:Hammocks and cradles have long been appreciated, but in a very limited way. Aside from being emotionally soothing the devices affect the skin and all deep body components. While structurally simple they are functionally quite sophisticated and could very well affect the pattern of health care across the board--acute, rehabilitation and home care--because of potential physiologic, economic and logistic advantages.
