Abstract：
:Clinical trials and prospective observational registries are useful methods to gain knowledge of vascular disease. Because the design of clinical trials is mainly based on demonstrating the efficiency of therapeutic procedures, these studies cannot be widely generalized, especially in complex multifactorial diseases such as vascular disease. The REACH registry overcomes many of these limitations, constituting the most numerous, extensive and powerful source of data on vascular diseases that is currently available. However, atherothrombosis is not the only mechanism of vascular disease, and awareness of this fact would improve diagnosis and allow more efficient treatment of these diseases.
