Abstract：
:Considerations, concerning legal obligation to psychiatric treatment in case of criminal offenders declared as insane by court, are presented in the paper. Necessity of some changes in the legal system is pointed out. It is suggested that, after preventive measures in the form of compulsory psychiatric hospitalization, there should be a possibility of enforced out-patient treatment. This should apply to persons who committed serious crimes (e.g. murder). Suggestions contained in the paper are illustrated by a description of a meaningful clinical case.
