The HIV epidemic in Italy.

Abstract:

:The implementation of surveillance systems for HIV and of large cohort studies have allowed for the construction of models that more accurately describe the HIV epidemic. This review focuses on changes in the epidemiological pattern, and the effect of changes in behaviour and of antiretroviral therapy.
