Abstract：
:During the past 15 years, the Wroclaw Medical Academy Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology experimented on the construction of IUDs. The paper discusses the positive and negative points of those devices which were produced as compared with the Gravigard and the Copper T-200. There were 702 women observed for 7 years while wearing the Spider Cu IUD, designed in 1973. The Spider Cu is a spatial, bioactive device with copper added characterized by its blunt shape and elasticity which makes uterine trauma or perforation impossible. It is highly safe and effective and is protected by patents in several countries including Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, India, and the U.S. The paper postulates a broad introduction of this IUD in home pharmaceutical trade.
