Generic orientation for agency nurses.

Abstract:

:The nurse shortage in hospitals has brought increased entry routes to RNs. One is the employment agency. This pool of nurses has facilitated staffing, but concerned administrators struggle to meet accreditation criteria for orientation of these employees while containing costs. One method is a generic orientation program. The result is a cost savings for hospital administrators, a successful continuing education program, and an assurance of the education/training of employees hired through outside agencies.
