Hepatic veno-occlusive disease.

Abstract:

:Hepatic veno-occlusive disease (VOD) after stem cell transplantation is a toxic manifestation of the conditioning regimen most probably emphasized by the allogeneic reaction. Its overall mortality rate is < 4% in adults as well as in children. Recent progress has been achieved in the diagnosis of this complication. However, better methods of both prophylaxis and treatment are needed.
