Resourcing innovative teaching of audit--models, methods and MAAGs.

Abstract:

:Audit is an important part of clinical practice, and has been promoted as a core aspect of undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. Few examples of how audit is taught in the undergraduate curriculum exist. This article presents a model for student teaching using innovative methods, which include an extended role for teaching and learning support from Medical Audit Advisory Group staff. This may be a unique arrangement in the UK. We recommend this approach as using skilled resources effectively and encouraging a positive learning experience for students, which should contribute to their motivation and ability to carry out audit at postgraduate level.
