Abstract：
:In the Province of Szczecin in the period 1993-1995 the incidence was 2.16 and the prevalence 55.32/100,000 on December 31 1995. Incidence and prevalence were higher in women (the difference was higher in Szczecin City) what was not connected with a significantly greater number of women in the population of the province. The study confirmed the presence in the southern part of the province of a focus with prevalence 110.54/100,000. The mean age at disease onset was 37.05 +/- 8.91. In women it was significantly higher than in men and it was nearly 10 years longer in relation to the mean age at onset in the years 1960-1984.
