Abstract：
:The zonules of 27 postmortem eyes were studied grossly using a histologic staining technique that allowed easy visualization of the zonules. Large disinsertions of the zonules were present in 5 of the 20 eyes that had undergone extracapsular cataract extraction (ECCE).
