Unusual case of exercise-induced ST segment elevation alternans: successful treatment with transluminal coronary angioplasty.

Abstract:

:Alternans of the ST segment is sometimes observed in experimental studies but is rarely seen in the clinical setting. Described is a case of exercise-induced ST segment elevation alternans that was successfully treated with transluminal coronary artery angioplasty. Theories regarding the cause and mechanism of this phenomenon are discussed.
