Doxorubicin (adriamycin) therapy of uterine sarcoma without surgery in an elderly patient.

Abstract:

:A case is presented of primary endolymphatic stromal sarcoma of the uterus in a debilitated elderly patient. Surgical intervention was contraindicated. Radium therapy was unsuccessful. A 4-month course of treatment with doxorubicin (Adriamycin) resulted in disappearance of the tumor. The patient is living 19 months after the beginning of Adriamycin therapy.
