A policy by and for people with disability.

Abstract:

:Disabled Persons Assembly (New Zealand) Inc. is the umbrella group and voice of people with disabilities in New Zealand. Formed from three groups in the early 1980s, it is unique in that the organization includes both individual and corporate members. The former are largely people with disabilities or their relatives, while the latter are corporate agencies and service providers. The background for the design and development of a national policy for the organization is discussed. The content and substance of the policy are illustrated.
