Abstract：
:Using a continuous-flow (Technicon SMAC) analyzer, we measured the concentration of 20 analytes in capillary blood sera from 149 neonates in an intensive-care unit. Included were term and pre-term babies, both groups with and without asphyxia. The values obtained, especially for those enzymes and analytes that are related to renal function, offer baseline data against which the effect of therapeutic and physiological changes can be evaluated.
