A lighted joystick control for a quadriparetic child with impaired visual awareness.

Abstract:

:Impaired hand function is a problem for children with spastic quadriparetic cerebral palsy. When combined with decreased visual acuity and visuoperceptual loss the problem is compounded. A joystick switch control, which is easy to use and provides a visual cue for attracting attention to the switch, is described.
