One-stage urethroplasty for urethral stricture. Free full thickness skin graft versus cutaneous island flap urethroplasty.

Abstract：

:50 patients with urethral strictures (35 bulbar, 40% iatrogenic) were treated by a one-stage skin inlay urethroplasty, using either a free full thickness patch (29 cases) or an island flap (21 cases), and followed up from 6 months to 3 years. Good results were achieved in 79% of the bulbar strictures irrespective of the type of the procedure. Penile and multioperated bulbar strictures are best treated using cutaneous island flap urethroplasty.
