Surgical treatment of traumatic carotid cavernous fistulas.

Abstract:

:Six cases of traumatic corotid cavernous fistulae treated by a combination of trapping and embolization are reported. The advantages and disadvantages of various operative procedures in the treatment of carotid cavernous fistulas are discussed. In our opinion a combination of trapping and embolization has advantages over other methods in the treatment of traumatic carotid cavernous fistulae.
