Abstract:
:I visited Afghanistan during the recent conflict. The conditions were primitive, and all patients with major injuries died in the field. Those who could make the 2 to 3 week trip over the mountains to Pakistan received only basic medical care at best. Without air superiority and helicopter evacuation, this could be the next scenario we have to deal with.
