[Quality management in decubitus prevention].

Abstract:

:Decubitus is one appropriate quality indicator in health care. Quality- or risk-management in the field of decubitus prevention is of interest for all involved professions. Nursing, medical and administrative staff are equally responsible. Data collection, evaluation and feedback aiming at the highest achievable benefit for patients and institutions are very important steps in the process. Suitable quality-programmes have been developed and implemented in Hamburg for hospitals and nursing facilities. Hence decubitus is discussed vividly and openly within a network of providers, research, sickness funds, insurance and politics.
