Abstract：
:The authors present their views of the most frequent difficulties and possible oversights in the diagnosis of chronic secretory otitis on the basis of the treatment of 950 children in all departments. An insidious, subclinical and long-lasting course of chronic secretory otitis, the age of this population and very often inadequate approach to acute inflammatory conditions of the middle ear, are the most frequent reasons for late recognition of this disease. However, the authors point out that a complete heteroanamnesis and careful evaluation of the symptoms and application of tonal audiometry and tympanometry, make the diagnosis of chronic secretory otitis in children more timely.
