Practical models for light distribution in laser-irradiated tissue.

Abstract:

:The distribution of light in laser-irradiated biological medium is computed using four different procedures. Values computed with Beer's law of attenuation, Kubelka-Munk theory, the diffusion approximation, and a seven-flux model are compared. The proper conditions for using each model are discussed.
