Magnetodontics. The use of magnetic forces in dentistry.

Abstract:

:A recently discovered alloy of cobalt and samarium (CO5Sm) has exceptional magnetic properties. A laboratory evaluation was made of the grip force of samples of this alloy of a size suitable for dental use. A review of both dental and general literature points to the need for establishing, prior to widespread usage, that magnetic fields are harmless to surrounding tissues.
