Abstract：
:In a 29 year-old female occlusions of both femoral arteries were caused by the administration of ergotamine in the form of Cafergot-suppositories. Angiographically long smooth-walled stenoses and occlusions over a segment of approximately 5 cm length in each superficial femoral artery as well as occlusions of both tibial arteries were demonstrated. Follow-up was carried out with oscillography, rheography, plethysmography and Doppler ultra-sound technique. A repeat angiogram 1 week after discontinuation of the drug and medical management with intravenous infusions of Ronicol and Valium revealed patent vessels of the lower extremities.
