Abstract：
:The Authors perform a retrospective study on the incidence of postoperative jaundice in a selected group of 2060 patients, who underwent operations of general or vascular surgery. The incidence of jaundice in the postoperative period appears to be quite high in vascular surgery: out of 96 patients became jaundiced, 78 were operated on for vascular diseases. A prolonged operation and multiple transfusions, besides the type itself of operation (general or vascular surgery) play important roles in this specific pathologic picture. The equality of anesthetic procedures employed makes the clinical study and statistical correlations significantly reliable.
