Abstract：
:A case of primary leiomyosarcoma of the mesentery is described. Only seven other cases have been reported in the literature, which means that this was an accidental finding. The histological features of the case are illustrated. It is suggested that this tumour originates in the muscle cells of the mesenteric vessels. The view that surgical management is incapable of improving the fatal prognosis is expressed.
