Lumbar canal stenosis in Paget's disease. The staging of the clinical syndrome, its diagnosis, and treatment.

Abstract:

:The lumbar syndrome of Paget's disease is classified according to its severity, clinical findings, biochemical factors, and radiological pattern. Pagetoid spinal stenoses may occur in three stages as a progressive clinical syndrome. Several diagnostic procedures, including computerized tomography, (CT) are analyzed to introduce the concept of Spinal Reserve Capacity (SRC). Treatment with calcitonin is recommended at the appropriate stages of the syndrome.
