Abstract:
:Spontaneous pneumothorax is an uncommon complication of bronchiolitis due to respiratory syncytial virus. Bilateral spontaneous pneumothorax in an infant with respiratory syncytial virus bronchiolitis has not been previously reported. We report the case of a four-month-old infant who presented in respiratory distress owing to respiratory syncytial virus bronchiolitis with bilateral pneumothoraces. The infant improved with evacuation of air from the chest.
