Computer-assisted tomography in the assessment of cervical spine trauma.

Abstract:

:Four patients with cervical spine trauma were examined by computerised tomography in addition to standard radiography and additional useful information was thereby gained. The axial projection is particularly useful in studying the cervical spinal canal and neural arch. The examination may be performed rapidly without moving the patient, an important consideration after severe trauma.
