Improved choline acetyltransferase immunohistochemistry in the red nucleus by blocking the axonal transport.

Abstract:

:Following blockage of the protein transport by colchicine or by interruption of the rubrofugal descending pathway, choline acetyltransferase-immunoreactive neurons were found in the red nucleus of the rat. Their morphology and location suggest that they are rubrospinal neurons.
