:Dementia is one of the most devastating illnesses that affect the elderly. The progressive decline in memory, judgment, intellectual function, and adaptive ability places an immense burden on families, healthcare providers, and communities. Because advancing age is the leading risk factor for most types of dementia, the prevalence of this tragic disorder will increase as the population ages. How can primary care physicians help?
