Abstract:
:A clinical study on the incidence of malnutrition among hospital patients with digestive system surgical disease is presented. Eighty-one patients were admitted into this trial and underwent preoperative nutritional assessment, which permitted classifying the type and intensity of malnutrition, in order to develop the appropriate postoperative nutritional support. There was high malnutrition incidence among both cancer and non-cancer patients, reaching levels of 80%.
