[Cytomegalic infection: importance of congenital cytomegalovirus infection in the genesis of cerebral palsy].

Abstract:

:In developed countries the congenital cytomegalovirus inclusion disease is considered to be nowadays an important problem of public health due to the great number of mental deficiency and deafness caused by it. In Brazil, publications related to the subject are rare, and more specifically they treat about pathologic and epidemiological aspects of the infection. In this study it is intended to show in our country the importance of the infection in the genesis of chronic encephalopathies. Emphasis is given to the clinical and serologic aspects.
