Urinary tract infection in surgical patients.

Abstract:

:Urinary tract infection continues to be a major source of morbidity for surgical patients, and treating these infections continues to be a difficult problem in clinical surgical practice. The majority of these infections are due to urinary catheters. One strategy that has been advanced to prevent the morbidity associated with these infections is the use of silver-coated urinary catheters.
