Abstract:
:This note reports data on parent-child and spouse resemblance on the Wechsler intelligence scales, the WISC and WAIS. Test data on parents and one male 10-year-old child from 55 Canadian families are used to estimate father-son, mother-son, midparent-son, and father-mother correlations on 11 comparable subscales and on the verbal, performance, and total IQ aggregates. Heritabilities for these same scales are estimated as the regression of offspring on midparent values.
