Abstract:
:Health literacy is a priority issue, as the majority of American adults lack the skills needed to manage their health. Health literacy education and competencies should be incorporated throughout all nursing curricula, as nurses are uniquely positioned to enhance effective communication that is essential to patient safety and patient outcomes.
