如何写好Response letter？

　　论文投出去只是第一站，等了两三个月，只要看到的不是rejection，而是revision，无论是大修还是小修总是值得欣慰的。但是面对审稿人的comments，response如何写也是不是件易事。

　　一、首先上基本原则：

　　(1)有礼有节：避免针锋相对，对comments有则改之无则加勉;

　　对方提的意见比较好——感谢审稿人，我们已经做出对应修改;

　　对方很明显没有看懂——可能是我们表述不够清晰，为了以防读者误会，会认真修改;

　　对方鸡蛋里挑骨头——我们在文章的第几部分，cite了什么文献，已经说明了对应问题;

　　(2)直击重点：在对应的reply里面做出有理有据的解释，不要打哈哈，也不要暴露自己的缺点;

　　比如审稿人提出，需要补充实验，可以补充的列出实验结果。不可以补充的，表达作者充分认识到这个实验有所帮助，但是目前实验室条件没法展开，可以在未来针对开展，这次已经增加了相应的文献说明，可以支撑文章论点。

　　(3)清晰明了：尽可能节省审稿人和编辑的阅读时间，哪些地方做了哪些修改，都在response letter里面依次列出;

　　Comments按照顺序排列，comments和response采用不同颜色或斜体字体以区分;

　　文章中的修改使用蓝色/红色/黄色字体，使审稿人和编辑可以一目了然看到修改;

　　Response里面对于增添的内容可以稍作介绍，如 (added to page 11-12：添加的内容或图表)，(添加的内容， Ref.23)。

       二、再来看一看常见句式：

　　1. 论文语言太差，需要润色

　　(1)We tried our best to improve the manuscript and made some changes in the manuscript. These changes will not influence the content and framework of the paper. And here we did not list the changes but marked in red in revised paper. We appreciate for Editors/Reviewers’ warm work earnestly, and hope that the correction will meet with approval.

　　(2)Thanks for your suggestion. We have tried our best to polish the language in the revised manuscript.

　　2. 需要增加参考文献

　　(1)We sincerely appreciate the valuable comments. We have checked the literatures carefully and added more references on ___ and___ into the INTRODUCTION part in the revised manuscript.

　　参考文献1，参考文献2

　　(2)As suggested by the reviewer, we have added more references to support this idea (参考文献).

　　3. 表述不清，表格里面需要放更多数据或突出某些重点

　　Done, as requested. Tables 1 and 5 now include association results between eQTL and gene expression in breast tissue (based on GTEx V7). We have also added results for GTEx blood for comparison.

　　4. 需要补充实验的

　　(1)可以补充且结果理想的

　　We have investigated ___ by using ___ . The main findings are presented in Figure 2 and reveals ___ .The manuscript has been revised accordingly to clarify the above concerns.

　　(2)补充了实验但结果不理想

　　As suggested by the referee, we have tried our best to verify ____by____. However, no positive results has been observed. 引用文献说明为啥结果不理想，

　　Other researchers also found that it is very difficult to obtain. As suggested in the literatures, ____

　　(3)目前没有条件进行补充

　　We agree that more study would be useful to understand details of ____. At this point we do not have the necessary tool-set to study the ___. We hope, in the future, to employ ___ techniques to determine ___. (首先阐述没有客观条件)This study is beyond the scope of this report which focuses on answering critical questions regarding the ___.(第二步，阐述即使不补充这个实验也不影响文章阐述核心内容) We note also that since submission of our manuscript there has been a publication by ___ showing that ___ (插入参考文献). We have added this citation and reference to the manuscript.(后引用别的文献进行支撑)。
