SCI论文中如何写比较句

       我们在设计一个实验的时候，通常不止只有一个分组，一般都会有一个对照组和一个实验组，比如：健康的个体和糖尿病患者，或者是常规植物和转基因植物，有时甚至会出现多个实验组。有对照，自然就要用到对比句，那么在写对比句的时候需要注意哪些呢，小编在这里做了一些总结。

一、确保指出被比较的对象

　　例：Tumor cells treated with compound A showed lower expression of Bcl2. (incorrect)

　　用化合物A处理的肿瘤细胞显示出较低的Bcl2表达。(不正确)

　　Tumor cells treated with compound A showed lower expression of Bcl2 than vehicle control-treated cells. (correct)

　　用化合物A处理的肿瘤细胞相较于溶剂对照处理的细胞显示出较低的Bcl2表达。(正确)

　　在使用比较级的形容词或副词时，读者往往期望能看到两个对象的比较，所以，在比较句中，两个对象应该都要提及到。上面这个例子，，“lower”一词就表示一次比较，所以需要指明被比较的两种细胞。

　　例：Our proposed algorithm is a more robust and accurate method for predicting erosion in pipelines. (incorrect)

　　我们提出的用于预测管道中侵蚀情况的算法是一种更稳健而准确的方法。(不正确)

　　Our proposed algorithm is more robust and accurate for predicting erosion in pipelines than existing algorithms.(correct)

　　我们提出的用于预测管道中侵蚀情况的算法相较于现有的算法是一种更稳健而准确的方法。(正确)

　　Our proposed algorithm is a robust and accurate method for predicting erosion in pipelines. (correct)

　　我们提出的用于预测管道中侵蚀情况的算法是一种稳健而准确的方法。(正确)

　　以上这个例子，句中一旦使用了“more robust and accurate”，我们需要给出的就是某个算法和我们给出算法的比较，但是也可以去掉“more”使得句子语法准确。在给出的结论中，想要表达的是我们给出的方法才是稳健而准确的。

　　A better understanding of the pathogenesis of muscular dystrophy may lead to novel therapies. (acceptable)

　　更好地了解肌营养不良的发病机制可能会产生新的治疗方法。(可接受)

　　偶尔在文章只也会出现这种句子，句子里没有指出两个比较的对象，但是很明显的看出了作者说指出的“更好地了解”这个问题，是相较于现有的对于发病机制的认知。但是在文章中应该谨慎的使用这类句子，切忌不能用来描述具体的实验结果。

二、确保对象是可比较的

　　比较对象要确保是相同类型的东西。上述例子是将细胞于其他的细胞进行比较，或者是将算法于其他的算法进行比较。所以，在写作过程中，值得注意的是我们需要比较的对象时相同类型的，否则会引起读者的困惑。

　　例：The 1000-grain weight of rice treated with fertilizer A was higher than fertilizer B. (incorrect)

　　用A肥处理的水稻千粒重高于B肥。(不正确)

　　The 1000-grain weight of rice treated with fertilizer A was higher than rice treated with fertilizer B. (incorrect)

　　用A肥处理的水稻的千粒重高于B肥处理的水稻。(不正确)

　　这种说法不严谨，就中文语序而言，问题不是很大，但是英文表达是不妥当的

　　The 1000-grain weight of rice treated with fertilizer A was higher than that of rice treated with fertilizer B. (correct)

　　用A肥处理的水稻的千粒重高于用B肥处理的水稻的千粒重。(正确)

　　Rice treated with fertilizer A had a higher 1000-grain weight than rice treated with fertilizer B. (correct)

　　用肥料A处理的水稻比用肥料B处理的水稻具有更高的千粒重。(正确)

　　在这个例子中比较的是千粒重，而两个错误的句子千粒重是用来和肥料、水稻进行比较的，没有确保对象的统一，一种解决方法就是在句子中加上“that”，或者是想后一个句子那样去描述。

　　值得注意的是，上述例句中使用了“than”这个词，也可以使用“compared with”。通常英语母语人士会使用“than”，但是一些句子，应该使用的是“compared with”。

　　如：Compared with the Beijing-Tianjin-Heibei region, the Yangzi River Delta region had higher annual average precipitation.(“Than” cannot be used here to replace ”compared with”)

　　与京津冀地区相比，长江三角洲地区年平均降水量较高。(句中不能用“Than”来替换compared with”)

　　The Yangzi River Delta region had higher annual average precipitation than the Beijing-Tianjin-Heibei region. (The sentence is restructured to use “than”)

　　长三角地区年均降水量高于京津冀地区。(现在这个句子被重新调整为使用“than”)

　　还有一些其他的写法，如：

　　The annual average precipitation was higher in the Yangzi River Delta region than in the Beijing-Tianjin-Heibei region.(Another way to write this sentence)

　　The annual average precipitation in the Yangzi River Delta region was higher than that in the Beijing-Tianjin-Heibei region. (Yet another way to write this sentence)

　　这几种句式都是可以接受的，通常短的句子往往好的，但是也可以使用其他的句式来贯穿上下文。

三、使用不同的单词来描述随着时间的推移而产生的变化和群体之间的差异

　　对于“增加”、“减少”这样的词汇而言，描述的是一种趋势，意味着随着时间的推移，同一个样本所发生的变化。可以使用如“greater”，“larger”，“lower”和“smaller”这样的词，来描述不同群体间的差异。假设有一项研究，低血细胞比容患者接受了两种不同形式的治疗，并在治疗之前和之后的不同的时间点进行测量两组患者的血细胞比容水平，在进行描述结果时，需要明确指出是同一组内的变化还是两组间的差异。

　　Hematocrit levels increased in both groups following the treatments and peaked at 1 week post-treatment in group A but peaked at 3 weeks post-treatment in group B. (Here we describe the trend in each group)

　　两组治疗后血细胞比容水平均升高，A组治疗后1周达到高，B组治疗后3周达到高。（这句话描述的就是每个组的趋势）

　　At the 3-month post-treatment follow-up, patients in group A had higher hematocrit levels than those in group B. (Here we describe a between-group comparison)

　　在治疗后3个月的随访中，A组患者的血细胞比容水平高于B组。（这句话描述的是两组之间的比较）

　　实验对照要是只有两组，没有测量随时间的变化，避免使用“增加”、“减少”这些词，但是，在结果中可能会需要表明增加或者减少的趋势。

　　如：ELISA showed that fibroblasts treated with the inhibitor secreted more CCN2 into the culture medium than untreated cells.

　　ELISA显示用该抑制剂处理的成纤维细胞比未处理的细胞会分泌更多的CCN2到培养基中。

　　These results suggest that this inhibitor increased CCN2 secretion in fibroblasts.

　　这些结果表明这种抑制剂增加成纤维细胞中的CCN2分泌。
