SCI论文标题翻译要求

　　医学论文题目翻译的基本要求是：准确、清楚、简洁和生动。

　　因此，要写好一个内容准确、清楚、文字凝炼且吸引人的英文题目并不是一件容易的事，作者需要有一定的英语文字能力和掌握一定的写作要领，如果要写出符合西方读者的胃口的文题，甚至对西方文化得有研究才行。

　　一、标题要做到以下几点要求：

　　1、清楚：模糊不清的文题往往会给读者和做索引的人带来麻烦和不便。如下面一个文题The Effects of Vioform on Its Onset,中间的不定代词所有格“Its”很费解。

　　有些作者在文题中喜欢用非英语词汇(包括拉丁语，当然个别有例外)。有些医学术语是以地名和人名来命名的，但不常用，因此在文题中使用似乎不妥。例如：Cotunnius’disease是指坐骨神经痛(sciatica)，有谁知道呢?恐怕很少读者在阅读医学杂志目录时反复查词典的吧!

　　读者只求迅速获得知识，所以文题要写得具体清楚，如A Complication of Translumbar Aortography,中间complication是什么呢?改成Aortic Dissection after Translumbar Aortography就明白多了。

　　2、简洁：一个文题能用一行文字表达，好不要用两行。超过两行则会削弱读者的印象。好的办法是用数个字表示文章的中心内容，作主标题，再加一个副标题表明区别。

　　The Effect of Diet on Stotistical Rish in Patients with Coronary Artery Disease.

　　可写成：

　　Coronary Artery Disease: Diet and Statistical Risk.

　　在文题中，作者应该将主要位置留给关键词。

　　A Double-Blind Trial of Low Doses of Subcutaneous Heparin in the Prevention of Deep Vein Thrombosis after Myocardial Infarction:Prevention by Heparin.

　　文题中常常可以删去不必要的冠词(a，an和the)和多余的说明性短语：studies of;observation on;investigation of;evaluation of ;experimental report of;development of;use of ;treatment of …

　　作者还要注意文题中词意上的重叠，如:

　　Tuaumatic Injuries of the Inferior Vena Cava;

　　Surgical Postoperative Bleeding Associated with Aspirin Ingestion;

　　Sterilization with IUD Contraception.

　　二、修饰词位置不当

　　1》下面是修饰词位置不当的例子：

　　Toxoplasmosis in Humans Derived from Cats

　　正确的写法是：

　　Toxoplasmosis Derived from Cats in Humans

　　又如：Cars Blamed for Pollution by Scientist

　　正确的写法是：

　　Cars Blamed by Scientist for Pollution

　　2.名词堆砌

　　Factors Influencing Primary Liver Cancer Resection Survival Rate

　　比较好的写法是：

　　Factors Influencing Survival Rate After Resection of Primary Liver Cancer

　　又如：

　　Severe Respiratory Tract Erosive Burns 可改为：

　　Severe Erosive Burns of the Respiratory Tract

　　3.词句表达冗繁

　　A 29-year-old Man with Miliary Pulmonary Patten on Radiologic Examination其实取后半部分文字文字作文题就够了：

　　Miliary Pulmonary Patten on Radiologic Examination

　　西方作者倾向于使用一个简短的句子作为问题，句子多为省略句、简短的陈述句，也可以用疑问句，显得活泼而吸引人。国内作者在写文题时可以尝试模仿西方作者的这种做法。

　　例如：

　　Long-Term Digitalis Therapy Improves left Ventricular Function in Heart Failure

　　不合逻辑

　　Prevention of Sudden Death……

　　介词使用不当

　　误：Clinical Research of Dibutytryl Cyclic AMP in Psoriasis

　　正：Clinical Research on Dibutytryl Cyclic AMP in Psoriasis

　　误：Insulinoma:Diagnostic and Therapeutic Experience with 60 Cases

　　正：Insulinoma:Diagnostic and Therapeutic Experience in 60 Cases

　　误：Anesthetic Manangement of carotid Surgery

　　正：Anesthetic Manangement for carotid Surgery

　　误：Surgery in Congenital Choledochus Cyst

　　正：Surgery for Congenital Choledochus Cyst

　　4.滥用缩略语

　　有些非常用缩略语如果不写出全名常常会使读者不知所措。

　　另外，医学中同一个略语可以有多种解释，如Cv,可以解释为cardiovascular、costovertebral等。所以，文题要避免缩略语，其目的显而易见。
